QUEBEC, CANADA – The golf course at Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu is iconic in Quebec, Canada, and of course very popular on golf packages to the country. The golf club originally opened in 1923 where guests – on a very early form of a golf vacation – could tee off on a spectacular nine-hole golf.

With the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu growing rapidly in popularity, architect Herbert Strong was hired to design the new green gem that was opened in 1925 and inaugurated by William H. Taft.

“This golf course is a point of pride among all golfers in Quebec, Canada,” said John Banks, a golf expert in Ontario. “It is mandatory to visit here on your next golf vacation.”

In April 2002, Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu announced a $10 million expansion project over the next four years. The project transformed Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu Golf Club into a world-class golf complex and included: a new water supply infrastructure, a new nine-hole course designed by Graham Cooke and Associates, one of the largest architectural firms for golf clubs in Canada, as well as a new driving range.

The new Clubhouse, which has been built at the 1st hole of the new nine-hole golf course, features a new dining room complemented with an outstanding view. And the Golf Academy, directed by Jean-Philippe Moffet, Golf Professional, has a driving range and offers a dedicated space for golfers to practice all aspects of their game.

The new facility is secluded from the public, increasing the privacy of lessons offered at the academy to small groups or individuals.

Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu Golf Club already enjoys an enviable reputation. The Shield, a much-coveted trophy, and the establishment of the exclusive Cardinal Club in 1951 enhanced the club’s reputation.

Golf packages that include this amazing, spectacular golf course are popular in Ontario, Canada. Be sure to take the necessary step on your next golf vacation to Ontario to visit and play this excellent golf destination.
